November is a crazy, busy time of year for us. Birthdays, Thanksgiving, Black Friday shopping...basically our lives are chock full of activities. Yet, there are a ton of books releasing this month we cannot wait to get our hands on as well as some which have recently released that we've one-clicked and moved to the top of our TBR list. We think in order to not loose our minds during this crazy busy season of our lives we're going to need plenty of good "escapes" from reality. So, here's our list of "Must Read" books which we anticipate will keep us up late at night, and subsequently provide just enough escape from our lives to keep us sane!!!
10. Crush by Kim Karr - November 16th
Crush is book 2 in the Tainted Love series, and the sequel to Blow. I love the way author Kim Karr weaves the lives and stories of her characters. Her story telling is flawless and incredibly interesting and we have no doubt this one will be one of those stories we won't be able to put down!
Logan McPherson and Elle Sterling continue to thrill in this powerful conclusion to the tantalizing, provocative, and unexpected sizzling romance that began in BLOW.
The danger isn’t over.
It’s only just begun.
Circumstances brought them together and their undeniable connection won’t let them part. But when the past and the present collide, emotions run high—things are said, lines are crossed, and rules are broken. Both focused on crushing the enemy, the retribution is almost too much to bear. Still, there’s no undoing what has already been done, and every action has a consequence.
He loves her and she loves him, but love isn’t a shield.
Sometimes your only choice is the one you’d rather not make. Pushed to the limit, the tainted love of Logan and Elle is in jeopardy. With outside forces driving a wedge between them, they have to dig deep within their souls to release the ghosts of their pasts, and fight even harder for what neither knew they needed—each other.
Ok, so have you read the synopsis of this one yet? I feel like the blurb alone will have readers everywhere one-clicking, even if they haven't read any of Samantha Towle's work before. She is the author of the Mighty Storm and we absolutely LOVED this series, to be perfectly honest none of her books, that I've read have ever really disappointed me. A "book-high" from Samantha Towle is like no other so we couldn't be more excited for the release of When I Was Yours.
“Marry me.”
“What?” I stared back at him, unblinking.
He moved closer, taking my face in his hands. “I love you, Evie. I look into the future, and the only thing I see clearly is you. Marry me.”
What’s an eighteen-year-old girl who was madly in love with her nineteen-year-old boyfriend say?
Of course, I said yes.
Twenty-four hours later, I married Adam Gunner at a Vegas chapel to the sounds of “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi. Not the best omen. I get that now.
Then, exactly one week later, I left him. I walked out, leaving behind my wedding ring, annulment papers, and my heart, and he never knew why.
I haven’t seen him since. Not in ten long years.
Now, he’s here, standing before me. Looking at me with nothing but hurt and hatred in his eyes, he wants answers.
Answers I can’t give.
8. Soundless by Richelle Mead - November 10th
Saying we LOVE Vampire Academy and Bloodlines wouldn't really convey just how much we became obsessed with those two series! The obsession I am talking about is finishing one book and then immediately starting the next. With each of those series I read all 6 books in less than a week. I think it's safe to say I didn't do much sleeping while reading Richelle Mead's masterpieces. Her books are simply irresistible, so needless to say, we are hoping Richelle Mead's new series lives up to our very high expectations.
For as long as Fei can remember, there has been no sound in her village, where rocky terrain and frequent avalanches prevent residents from self-sustaining. Fei and her people are at the mercy of a zipline that carries food up the treacherous cliffs from Beiguo, a mysterious faraway kingdom.
When villagers begin to lose their sight, deliveries from the zipline shrink and many go hungry. Fei’s home, the people she loves, and her entire existence is plunged into crisis, under threat of darkness and starvation.
But soon Fei is awoken in the night by a searing noise, and sound becomes her weapon.
Richelle Mead takes readers on a triumphant journey from the peak of Fei’s jagged mountain village to the valley of Beiguo, where a startling truth and an unlikely romance will change her life forever....
7. The Fall Up by Aly Martinez - October 25th
How could you not read Aly's Wrecked and Ruined series and not fall in love with her as an author? If there is one thing we are sure of it's Aly Martinez can tell a story...so couple that knowledge with The Fall Up's amazing cover and brilliant blurb and the only thing I see going wrong is if you don't give this one a one-click.
I wanted to jump.
He made me fall.
As a celebrity, I lived in the public eye, but somewhere along the way, I’d lost myself in the spotlight.
Until he found me.
Sam Rivers was a gorgeous, tattooed stranger who saved my life with nothing more than a simple conversation.
But we were both standing on that bridge for a reason the night we met. The secrets of our pasts brought us together—and then tore us apart.
Could we find a reason to hold on as life constantly pulled us down?
Or maybe there’s only one direction to go when two people fall in love at rock bottom—up.
6. Epic Sins by Trudy Stiles - November 4th
When we opened Trudy Stiles debut novel Dear Emily, we knew she was destined for greatness. Her stories are always so full of emotion, so thought provoking that even when you turn the last page you cannot get the story or the characters out of your mind. Seriously every single book in the Forever Family series was absolutely fantastic. Epic Sins is a spin-off, standalone book. If this gives you any indication of how good this one is, I was up until 1:30 am finishing the ARC last night because I was so caught up in Garrett and Sam's journey, I knew my mind wouldn't turn off and allow me the sleep I so needed until I had read every single word of their story!
Garrett Armstrong, the lead guitarist of Epic Fail, womanizer and not so nice guy, leaves a trail of women in his wake. A recent one-night stand wreaks havoc, and turns his present completely upside down. He’s faced with a reality that he never expected. Never wanted.
Samantha Weston can’t escape the black cloud that follows her. She suffered an unspeakable loss as a teenager and has been climbing uphill ever since. As soon as her life starts to become manageable she’s slammed with another tragic event, forcing her to abandon the only thing in life that she cherishes.
A heartbreaking situation throws this unlikely pair together. They’re forced to face things that seem impossible. Can Sam get past the demons that haunt her? Can Garrett accept a fate he swore to avoid at all costs?
Can they conquer the sins that are poised to destroy them or will they become an Epic Fail?
Epic Sins is the first book of the Epic Fail series, a spinoff STANDALONE of The Forever Family series.
Reading The Forever Family series is not required as these are all spin-off/standalone novels, but it may enhance your experience.
5. Every Wrong Reason by Rachel Higginson - September 22nd
I purchased The Five Stages of Falling in Love on a whim and was immediately sucked in. Rachel Higginson writes with raw, real emotion and quite honestly The Five Stages of Falling in Love just might be the most emotional book journey I've taken this year. Even still, almost 9 months since I read the book there are days that story comes back to mind and forces me to wonder, to question what it would be like if those circumstances became my own. Every Wrong Reason, sounds like it will be every bit as good as The Five Stages of Falling in Love, which is why I just have to read this one ASAP!
First comes love.
Then comes marriage.
Then comes the... really nasty divorce.
Kate Carter thought she married her soul mate. She thought she had her happily ever after. But seven years into Kate's marriage, she realizes that her husband Nick is not what she wanted. He's selfish, he's oblivious and he doesn't love her anymore.
Maybe she doesn't love him anymore either.
Divorce is the only option if either of them wants to find happiness.
Kate and Nick thought they knew what they wanted, but neither is prepared for the heartache that separating will bring them. The journey they embark on is not the freedom they wished for, but a painful look at the people they've become.
At the end of it, Kate has to decide if this is really the life she wants or if maybe there's a way to salvage her broken heart.
4. Vegas Love by Jillian Dodd - November 24th
Jillian Dodd is probably one of my favorite go-to authors for a guilty pleasure. Without a doubt Jillian Dodd can write, in fact, she probably could write and produce a hit TV series for the CW if someone would just give her a chance. Her stories are the perfect amount of drama and you will not be able to resist the fictional worlds she creates. We were lucky enough to read a draft of Vegas Love, and it's killing me having to wait for the release so I can see where the story is going next and how it's going to end! Rest assured you will fall in love with Cash. Those KC boys don't have anything on him!
Hollywood actress, Ashlyn Roberts, just had the worst week of her life. Her ex released a sex tape of them and just when she was convinced her current boyfriend was a keeper for standing by her side, he breaks up with her at a friend’s wedding. She’s planning to drown her sorrows in booze when she meets a sexy stranger as she’s leaving the wedding and they end up in Vegas, married.
Cash Crawford is offered a dream job working with his brother as a junior talent agent. He’ll put his shiny new law degree to good use and make a bunch of money in the process. His first task is simple: Keep Ashlyn Roberts out of trouble and don’t sleep with her.
Which might be kind of tough, since they definitely consummated their Vegas wedding.
Will this one night stand end in the quickie divorce they promised each other? Or will they realize they got lucky in love?
3. Untamed by S. C. Stephens - November 3rd
Ok, so S.C. Stephen's Thoughtless series is one of those which I've read and re-read multiple times. I just love Kellan and Kiera's story! One of the things I think made this series so special and unique though were the supporting characters, mainly Griffin. So, raise your hand if you have been waiting forever to read Griffin's story! We loved the humor and craziness he brought to the Thoughtless books, and couldn't be more excited to hear an entire story through his eyes. Side note..I do hope he and Anna find their HEA because they make such a perfect couple!
The spotlight doesn't only shine. Sometimes, it burns.
Being the bad-boy bassist for the world's hottest band has earned Griffin Hancock some perks: a big house, a fast car, and most importantly his incredible wife, Anna. The one thing it hasn't brought him is the spotlight. Anna tells him to be patient, that his talent will win out. But Griffin is through waiting for permission to shine.
Without warning, Griffin makes a shocking decision and takes the gamble of a lifetime. Suddenly he's caught up in a new level of lights, cameras, and chaos. One that pushes his relationship with Anna to its limits. Anna has always found his unpredictable behavior sexy, but lately he's seen an ache in her eyes--and it has his soul in knots. Just as the recognition Griffin seeks is finally within reach, the thing he loves most in life could be slipping through his fingers . . .
2. November 9 by Colleen Hoover - November 10th
It is no secret that we adore all things Colleen Hoover. Her writing and ability to tell a story, to take the journey to places you never imagined never ceases to amaze me. For months I have been seeing teasers and have been on pins and needles waiting for the release of November 9. Each time I start a new Colleen Hoover release though I find myself super anxious. You see I love her work so much I cannot help but wonder if this next book will be as good as the last one, is it possible for a person to never disappoint? 1. Denial by Lisa Renee Jones - November 24th
Lisa Renee Jones always keeps us on the edge of our seat! We love how she weaves such a beautiful story, filled with mystery. She has never disappointed us, and we know Denial is going to be worth the wait! What I love most about a Lisa Renee Jones book is that she keeps me on my toes. No doubt she has mastered the process of taking readers deeper into the mystery she is weaving while simultaneously throwing us clues as to what's really going on. One minute you might find yourself a step closer to figuring out the answer or at least a possible theory only to be thrown a curve ball in the next chapter which pushes you two steps behind. Its frustratingly brilliant and the end result is this stunning book you literally cannot put down! Here's a confession I read the ARC of Denial a couple of weeks ago and it was nothing short of an amazing, intense 5 star read that commanded my attention from page 1 and quite honestly the book may be over but my mind is still reeling from the ending. I am desperate for the next installment! So take it from me, go ahead and pre-order your copy today so you can read it over your Thanksgiving break.
