Synopsis
“Wes, I don’t know what you want me to say here.” Royal’s voice is broken. Maybe he is broken. Maybe I broke him. Lord knows I’m broken myself.
“Don’t say anything.” I start off with. There are so many things I want to tell him. The one thing I want him to know, that I want him, I will never say aloud. “When push comes to shove, Royal, you’ll break me. I’d never be the same after you. I’d be a shell of this girl.”
His face pales but he doesn’t step away. Something I had planned on. His hands caress my face before he says, “You have that wrong, Wesley. You’ll be the one to break me.”

I was gifted a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
I have never read any books by Amanda Heath before this blog tour. I remember reading the synopsis of Make Me and thinking that sounds awesome, but I forgot to buy it. When we signed up for this blog tour, it said Break Me could be read as a stand alone, so that’s what I decided to do. I will, however, be purchasing the first book in the Make and Break series because I want to know more about Channing and Paisley, some of the other characters in Break Me. I think their story is going to be as much fun to read as Wes and Royal.
Wesley Bridges is a 17 year old high school senior that has known horrible heartbreak and grief with the loss of her boyfriend, Trey, in a tragic accident. I felt so sorry for Wes at the beginning of this book and my empathy for her continued throughout the book. I could really feel her heartbreak and pain and her struggle to let go of Trey and move on to find happiness. I thought that the author did a great job of getting into her head with the inner monologue and her struggle to fit in with her “old friends”. She is a great character and I hope that we get to see lots more from Wes in the next book, Save Me.
Royal Duke Sanders is just downright amazing. He is one of the most caring and sweet book characters I have read about recently. I love that he is so understanding of the struggle that Wes is going through and is not pushy or resentful. He really makes me love him more with his willingness to fight for Wes, and woo her like she needs and deserves. He is such a great character and the relationship they share is unique and adorable at the same time.
The secondary characters in this book are great too, although, I can’t stand Annabella and I am pretty sure I never will like her. Rachel is great and I am so excited to read about her and Pierce in the next book as well. She has no filter, which I love! And she is Royal’s twin sister so that guarantees me some more interactions with Wes and Royal. Yay!
If you are looking for a great YA book with plenty of drama and teenage angst. One click this read now! You won’t regret it!
About Author Amanda Heath
I live in southern Arkansas with my husband and young daughter. There is also an insane Boston Terrier running around. I've always been a lone wolf and find my friends in books. I started writing at a young age and I haven't stopped since. Most days you can find me either glued to my laptop or my kindle. My first novel, This Beautiful Thing was an Amazon best seller for 11 weeks and a year later I'm still tickled to see people enjoy it. I may not be a huge seller but I have the best fans ever and I thank God everyday for every single one of them.
